​Can you tell us a bit about yourself? 
I'm 22 years old from Trondheim, Norway. When I was 15-16 years old I actually spent one year in California before going to high school in Norway. I did my bachelor's degree in Denmark, I had a great time at Copenhagen Business School and did an exchange to Brazil last fall. After that I was thinking if I should take my master’s degree and find a job somewhere, but I talked to a friend and he helped me get an internship here at Vaco.

What was the most appealing about the internship that made you apply?
Two different things: The clients that Vaco work with and the fact that I got to experience working for huge tech companies in Silicon Valley. It’s really cool to just observe. The second thing and the most important thing for me was that it was an opportunity to go abroad, to go somewhere else. Because I could probably get a job in Norway that was better paid but it would not be as much fun and interesting. I treasure this opportunity to go abroad.

Do you think this internship is helping you with your future career?
Yeah for sure! I don't know what my future career entails and I'm not trying to find that out just yet. I definitely think that... to have been on an internship in the U.S. would look good on any CV but also the nature of this internship in fact that I am on this company. The things that I am doing here is definitely going to help me towards the future, both in terms of just communication in english, learning about the american corporate environment and all the english communication I learn is also really valuable experience I can get here at this internship. 

How has the internship in comparison with your expectations been?
When I was looking at this internship I was browsing a lot of information about it, because I wanted to know what I was getting myself into. I wanted to know as much as possible, so I asked obviously The North-West Passage and a friend that's been working here before to know as much as possible. I think it definitely matched my expectations, it was pretty spot on for me. Something that exceeded my expectations were the people I’m working with, I really like my team and how relaxed the environment is, but the work itself was as I expected.
